Laboratory of microbial evolution in clinical frameworkâs
We are a multidisciplinary team combining experiece in bioinformatics, molecular biology and microbiology.
The main reaseach topics of the group are the evolution/ecology of microbes and their relationship with other organisms, including humans.
Having a background in microbial genetics/evolution and being part of the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (University of Milan), we are interested in the connection between evolutionary biology and clinical sciences.
Our reseach projects range from the genomics of endosymbionts to genomic epidemiology, historical epidemiology and the study of the association between microbial comunities and human complex diseases, joining basic and applied research.
